When to Have Halloween Office Parties

Wednesday, October 1st, 2008

In this economic climate, it might be important to boost employee morale. People may be afraid of losing their jobs, even if you as their employer know that isn’t happening. This psychological problem can affect productivity. A happy workforce is a productive workforce. Cheer up your employees by having a holiday office party. It could require a lot of planning depending on the size of your staff, so prepare to plan ahead and get help from some volunteers. If you really want to stand out from the crowd, celebrate early with a Halloween office party. It will re-energize the employees for the lead up to the slower December timeframe.

Summer is over - the holidays have arrived…

Thursday, September 11th, 2008

The snow hasn’t fallen yet, but the holidays are coming. It’s amazing how early holiday planning starts. Big companies are already spending a considerable amount of time sourcing gift baskets for their corporate gift giving and sometimes, it’s the non-traditional holidays that they focus on. Corporate Halloween gifts are one way to outshine the competition. While your recipients are innundated with lots of Christmas holiday gifts, they would be shocked and surprised to receive a Halloween gift basket. It’s something to definitely consider this year!

Fall is Upon Us…

Wednesday, August 20th, 2008

Fall is in the air…it was really cool last night. No more hot sticky nights. Well, maybe not. It’s hard to tell if the ‘new weather’ will stick.  I can’t wait for the leaves to change colours and not the least of which, BACK TO SCHOOL! The start of school is early this year, due to Labour Day being on Monday the 1st of September. The largest gift basket season is just around the corner too.  Can’t wait!

Organic Fruit and Vegetables

Friday, July 25th, 2008

There’s a big trend nowadays on  buying organic fruits and vegetables. I guess you have to have faith that the company isn’t just packaging regular produce and calling it organic. The benefits are obvious - no pesticides, heathy and better quality food, but the expense can be a bit prohibitive. It’s always good to source out a trusted supplier to make sure that you are comfortable with who you select.

A gift basket like no other…

Thursday, July 3rd, 2008

I was visiting an office the other day when I saw what I believe to be the biggest gift basket in the world.  Ok, maybe it wasn’t the biggest, but it was huge. I looked even too big for the 30 person office I was at.  Whoever sent that gift must have had alot to be thankful for.  I’m guessing that office made the person a ton of money because the basket would have cost a fortune.  Not that money should be the most important thing to consider.  Even a small understated basket can have a big impact if it’s themed right.  It’s not always the cost that is most important…but in this case, it definitely left an impression!

Golf Gifts in June

Saturday, June 28th, 2008

The height of golf season is early summer.  The anticipation to get onto the golf course after a long winter and spring is big.  Many golfers attend indoor driving ranges to make sure they keep their skills up.  It can be hard because of the differences of indoor and outdoor play, but it’s often worthwhile.  To get on the green and putt for a birdie can be exhilrating.  A long drive from the fairway, just missing the bunker.  With a golfer, sending a golf themed gift basket is appropriate any time of year.  If there birthday is in January, they’ll keep their tees or golf balls that were in the basket safe until ready for use.  The theme is perfect regardless of the time of year.  For the golf lover everywhere, a golf gift basket is a great gift idea.

Fruit Gift Baskets in the Summer

Monday, June 23rd, 2008

The warm weather can sometimes cause havoc for a beautiful fruit gift basket.  Unfortunately, fruit doesn’t like to stay in a sealed box and shipped across country.  Go figure!  In Canada, the best choice is to buy a fruit basket locally.  The shipping time is minimized and the gift can arrive as intended, in perfect condition!  If that choice isn’t an option (e.g. no good local company!), consider sending a gourmet gift basket with shelf stable product only.  It’ll arrive in perfect condition and can be consummed over weeks, possibly months.  The important thing to remember is that you always have choices!
